A work of art

Another great looking board by Tony Crimmins coming together. The care and attention to detail that Tony puts in to each and every board is on another level and the end result is a work of art.

Dennis at Woody Logic back making boards

A nice new 7 ft fish from Dennis." It's been wet sanded and polished out.  I'm pleased with the overall finish.  The polyester is a lot easier to work with in a lot of respects. The board weight is about a pound maybe two more than the foam one.  This board is a lot stronger.  I loved working with the balsa and cedar combo."

 Lots of detail
If anyone is interested the board it will be at the Surfari Surf Shop here in Ormond Beach, FL. he open for custom orders if anyone is interested.

Stavros Xan's new work shop in Greece

Stavros has just completed his new work shop in Athens Greece to build wooden boards. He is a passionate man and loves experimenting with his designs. It looks like he has a great setup to build his boards
This is from his blog :  "SX Wooden Surfboards began in the backyard of a home minutes from the waves in Santa Marina, Athens,Greece. Stav has combined his love of board sports with a passion for wooden boat-building techniques to create works of art for riding waves that have less impact on the environment and more positive impact on your surfing. The beauty of SX Wooden Surfboards lies in the blend of softwoods, the artful patterns naturally produced by the wood itself.
In the future, SX Wooden Surfboards will continue to build custom dream boards and develop new surfboard shapes in collaboration with our customers."

Stavros enjoys designing and building new models to add to his quiver. Check them out  Here
Just goes to show there are people building wooden boards all over the world in some unlikely places.

Adams first wooden board

Adam lives on the Sunshine Coast and builds hi tech down hill skate boards using various laminates and epoxy vacuum bagged together. So he ended up with an aray of various timber laminates. I designed and got the blank cut for him. As you can see he has pieced together a number of laminates to make up his deck and bottom skins.
All the bits in the bag and doing its thing
Bagged and trimmed ready to add the rail band laminates
There are many ways to get those rail bands on and here is a new one.
Well they came out nice and tight so it did the trick.
All coming together

Applying the epoxy to seal the deal
 Looking good
Boxes in

Always good to get out there and have a crack on a board you built.
